Our Story

Our Core Competencies

Cambridge Shelter Corporation grew out of the “Out of the Cold” program that ran in seven local churches in winter.  The Bridges, a facility that now includes a year round emergency shelter, a drop-in centre, and 20 affordable, transitional, bachelor apartments opened in 2005.  It is designed to offer a continuum of services and support, and to assist clients in addressing the issues facing them to move forward towards permanent, appropriate, affordable housing.

Cambridge Shelter Corporation operates a daily drop-in centre, where most of the programs and services are delivered.  As well, we have 56 emergency shelter beds for men experiencing homelessness.  We also have 20 Supportive Housing  bachelor apartments on site which provide full-time support to those transitioning from the shelter to the community.

Cambridge Shelter Corporation believes in a “whole person” approach to serving clients and works in partnership with many other agencies, both in our Region and across Ontario, to ensure that our clients have access to the services they need to achieve personal success.
